Jon Gosselin - Dad Or Cad?

Unless you've just returned from a trip to another planet, you undoubtedly heard about the Jon and Kate GosselinKate GosselinKate Gosselin divorce war that seems to be in the news weekly, if not daily. The Gosselins, once upon a time, were stars of a very popular TLC "reality" show called Jon and Kate Plus Eight. The show followed the lives of a young couple trying to raise two sets of multiples in today's world.

I won't bore you with the rest of the history since it can be found on the Internet. Of course, Jon and Kate each have their own lawyers, public relations firm and separate homes. Kate for the most part, seems to be following the advice of her lawyers and public relations firm while still working under the restrictive TLC contract. Kate seems to be playing the single mom with eight kids card quite well. Kate's only infraction, she's been seen spanking one of the sextuplets for blowing a whistle while Kate was on the phone. Kate has been making the interview rounds again by appearing on Today and Good Morning America. Kate and her PR team go over the questions for these interviews in advance and she simply will not stray from that list. If Kate is having an alleged affair with her bodyguard, it is very well concealed since the paparazzi are following her every move.

Which brings me to the subject at hand. Is it just me or is Jon GosselinJon GosselinJon Gosselin just stupid?

Every time Jon does something good, he shoots himself in the foot by doing something bad. Case in point, Jon was a spokesperson for autism awareness. He was actually at the event and seemed genuinely interested. A few days later, Jon follows up this good deed by removing $180,000 from the Gosselin household account - without Kate's knowledge. Jon really complicated matters by trying to lie his way out of it. The Judge wasn't amused and ordered Jon to put the money back in to the account.

A few days ago when Jon had custody of the children, he mended fences with Kate's brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Jodi Kreider. Kevin and Jodi stopped by the Gosselin mansion for a reunion with their nieces and nephews. A day later, Jon's girlfriend Hailey, stated that Jon was allegedly emotionally abusing her.

Jon stops the filming of Jon and Kate Plus Eight because it was 'detrimental' to the children. Never mind that a month prior to this that Jon was videotaped as saying 'Jodi doesn't know what shes talking about. The kids love taping the show and the show gives them a chance to see things that they otherwise wouldn't see'. The cease and desist of filming came on the same day that Jon was essentially let out of his contract with TLC. In other words, he was fired. Jon and his lawyer start on the talk show circuit only to literally get blasted. Of all the talk shows to appear on, Jon and his lawyer pick Larry KingLarry KingLarry King and Nancy GraceNancy GraceNancy Grace. Needless to say, it was a disaster.

It wouldn't be right not to mention Jon's former girlfriends and their families. Deanna Hummel - her brother leaked word out about Jon's affair with his sister. Stephanie Santoro - Jon had plenty to say from using marijuana to his revenge against Kate. Stephanie's mother talked about how Jon contemplated suicide. Kate Major - left her job at Star magazine to 'be with Jon'. Kate 2.0 had plenty to say once she realized Jon's propensity to inflate the truth. Hailey Glassman - recently split from Jon. Now states Jon allegedly emotionally abused her

What are they doing now? Kate is trying to squeeze every last dollar out of TLC with two 'can't miss' specials Kate You Ask She Answers and Kate Her Story. A Registered Nurse, Kate recently renewed her nursing license. Kate once stated she'd 'work at McDonald's' to provide for her kids. She just might have to.

With the Divorced Dad's Club off the table and Michael Lohan no longer Jon's best friend forever, Jon is going to have to rely on his skills to get his next job. Working part time in Information Technology, Jon is still looking for that elusive reality show. Maybe Survivor or Amazing Race Jon is thinking.

And the kids? What about the kids?
