SEX VS. EMOTION: WHICH ONE PREVAILS?

Sex versus emotion. Which one is better? Which one is worse? Are they equal or seperate? The examples of sex versus emotion being used are r&b artists, Keyshia Cole and Trey Songz. Let's start with Keyshia, shall we? Keyshia Cole is a beautiful female who focuses her music on the human heart. In her debut album, The Way It Is, Keyshia debuted her pain. In songs,"I Should Have Cheated and I Changed My Mind" featuring controversial rapper Kanye WestKanye West, Keyshia let out her emotions. She let these emotions out onto the floor. Many people can relate. Others cannot. In her sophmore album, Just Like You, Keyshia showed that the pain she once felt is no longer a constant issue. Hits such as "Let It Go" featuring female rappers, Missy Elliott and Lil Kim and "Shoulda Let You Go" featuring another female rapper named Amina, show that Miss Cole is moving ahead. As for her junior album entitled, A Different Me, Keyshia shows how much growth she has made. Prime examples of this are her hit records, "You Complete Me and Trust" featuring fellow singer, Monica. Each record deals with a different emotion. As for Trey Songz, he does r&b as well but he takes a slight turn in that department. Trey Songz debut album, Gotta Make It, Trey introduced himself with many different topics. "Gotta Make It", shows Trey fighting for his chance to make it through his personal trials and tribulations. As for "Gotta Go", Trey showed his romantic side. In Trey's sophmore album, "Trey Day", Trey took a different approach. "Can't Help But Wait" discusses a woman in a realtionship that is un-healthy and in "Last Time", Trey discusses his infedlity. Trey's first two albums showed his different sides. His sexual side and his romantic side. In his latest album entitled, Ready, Trey has made a tradition r&b album. Ready is filled with heart felt music: sexual, yet passionate and real. "Successful" shows you just how far Mr. Songz has came and "I Need A Girl" displays his willingness for a companion. Now though, Keyshia and Trey are female and male they have many similarities and differences. These to make beautiful music. Altough, their styles are different, you can say that males more so concentrate on sex and females on emotion. Why is that though? Will we as a human race ever know. Many say yes. Many say no but in the end one thing is clear: Music will always turn the tables on what you do believe!
