NASA has got its sights firmly fixed on the Red Planet. While one group is developing the rockets and spaceships, another group is engaged on an important aspect of space travel, namely the effects of prolonged exposure to space. No matter what people might say, Space travel is going to be long ones and the astronauts would have to spend many months without the natural shields from UV radiation. Scientists have now zeroed in on monkeys to study the effects of the lack of solar radiation on the performances of monkeys. The primates would first be trained to do certain tasks and, the after effects would be noted with special attention to the central nervous systems and behavior patterns. Experiments have already out on mice and rats but the researchers want to get closer to the humans – hence, the tests would be carried out on monkeys.
