The USS New York has arrived in New York City. The $1 billion ship contains about 7.5 tons of World Trade Center steel. It was built in Louisana. The Navy assult ship received a 21-gun salute near the site of the September 11 attack.After the gound zero stop, the ship will sail up the Hudson River to the George Washington Bridge. It will then turn around and head south to Manhattan's Pier 88. The official commissioning ceremony will be held on Saturday.
