When the ladybirds wake up

London : United Kingdom | about 1 month ago

The ladybirds are neither ladies, nor birds. They appear to be innocent looking tiny living beings and, one usually ignores their presence. But, when they wake up from slumber, it might spell doom for many. The invasion of the ladybirds has sounded the alarm bells in Britain and researchers are collecting data from people who have come in contact with them. These orange colored spotted insects have not yet been classified as pests; hence there are no known pesticides in the market. A solution to get rid of these unwanted visitors is to resort to spraying them with hair spray. Another is to kill them individually because, if left out in the open, they will just crawl back!

They're a type of lady bug. The orange ones are the bad kind...they eat the red and yellow ones, the good kinds. Without the good lady bugs to eat aphids the aphids wreak havoc on crops. The lady birds really mess with their sector of the ecosystem.
