The new species were found on a recent expedition led by herpetologists from Conservation International and ornithologists from the Ecotrópico Foundation in Colombia's mountainous Tacarcuna area of the Darien, near the border with Panama.

    How did they discover them if you can't see them? was it some sort of heat see-er thingymabob? And how did you hear about this?

    Sounds interesting. Can you give us some more information about these frogs. What climates do these species prefer? What do they prey off of? Other than being see-through, what makes them different from ordinary frogs? Do you have images?

    No no, they're not invisible, they're see-through. As in you can see the skeleton, innards and eyes, but the skin is transparent. Do a Google image search for Glass Catfish and then see through frog. The frogs aren't as impressive as the fish, but still interesting.

    Apparently a group of Japanese scientists have been able to breed these and it has negated the need for dissection in studies for cancer and how toxins affect organs, for example. The scientists can observe a frog as it grows and as diseases progress. Squeamish biology students rejoice!
