A judicial magistrate has ordered that the body of a girl who had allegedly been strangled by her three family members should be exhumed for postmortem.
The Hazro police after registering a murder case against the accused including her parents and an uncle on the report of a social worker, Muneeba Bibi, had filed an application with the district and sessions judge seeking exhumation of the body for a postmortem.
When contacted, Subdivisional Police Officer, Hazro, Syed Akbar Abbas said the judge had appointed judicial magistrate Sohail Ikram to conduct the body exhumation for further legal proceeding.
The judicial magistrate fixed October 29 for exuming the body after which a medical board at the district headquarters hospital will conduct the postmortem.
He said the parents of the girl had been arrested while search was underway to nab the other accused.
The police have registered a murder case against the girl’s father Saadullah Khan, mother Parveen and uncle Naseeb Gul.
Khalida Bibi had escaped 22 days back from her home due to the harsh attitude of her parents and later got married with a youth in Multan.
She was traced by her father and brought home on the assurance that no harm would be done to her. However, on Sunday night, she was allegedly killed in the house.
The next day, the parents informed the neighbours that she had died after a short illness.
