President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the concerned departments of the federal government to review progress made on various Pak-China collaborated projects,

to speed up the implementation process to further deepen and widen economic engagement between the two countries. The president was speaking at a high level meeting attended by federal ministers Rehman Malik, Naveed Qamar, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Waqar Ahmed Khan besides senior officials of the concerned departments. Chinese ambassador in Pakistan Luo Zhaohui also attended the meeting as a special invitee. Pakistan ambassador to China Masood Khan gave a detailed presentation on the status of the ongoing collaborated projects between the two countries. Giving a briefing ambassador Masood khan said that 61 projects had been identified between the two countries in areas covering agriculture, communication, energy, banking & finance, infrastructural development, mining, industrial hi-tech power and special industrial and economic zones. Chairman Pakistan agriculture research council (PARC) Dr. Zafar Altaf gave briefing on Pakistan China collaborative projects in drip irrigation and hybrid cotton, wheat and rice. The President said that the hybrid seed developed should be sown in selected districts after undergoing thorough tests and trials.
