India's President Pratibha Patil arrives in Windsor

With less than a year to go for the 19th Commonwealth Games scheduled to be held in New Delhi, Queen Elizabeth II is handing over the CWG baton to Pratibha Patil, President of India who is currently on a state visit to England. The President would then hand over the baton to the Sports Minister of India M S Gill who would pass it on to Suresh Kalmadi, the Indian Olympics Association President who would in turn give it to India’s only Olympic Gold Medal winner Abhinav Bindra. The baton would traverse 170,000 by land, air and sea routes over different international venues and would reach India on 25th June 2010 from Pakistan at the Wagah border. From there it would begin its 20,000 kilometers long 100-day national tour. Other sportspersons who would be involved in the baton relay are legends in their respective fields like Kapil Dev, Milkha Singh, Prakash Padukone, Sania Mirza etcetera.
