Sri Lanka's e-society programme has shined at the recent Innovation Fair held at the World Bankin Washington, D.C.,U.S.A. The Innovation Fair has organized by the World Bank to draw attention of the top Management for creative and fresh approaches in global development programs.
The e-Society program was one of six most distinctive projects from the South Asia regionshow cased at this inaugural World Bank Innovation fair.The program initiated and implemented under the e-Sri Lanka project by the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Agency-Sri Lanka.
ICT Agency Sri Lanka has been working for encouraging local expertise. The e-society program showed how it has adroitly used ICT to develop programs that have helped rural farmers to access agricultural market information, provide social services,education opportunities to individuals and assist the disabled.
ICT Agency has established under the Information and Communication Act no 27 of 2003 by the Sri Lanka government. The project period is

Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA), Sri Lanka have joined hands with Centre for Science, Development and Media Studies (CSDMS), India to organise 4th annual eASiA 2009 conference and exhibition in Colombo on 2-4 December 2009 at BMICH Colombo.
