RAWALPINDI: A former chief justice of Pakistan, ex-judges of the Supreme Court and senior lawyers have rejected the stance of former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and asked him to confess his fault and sit down at his home.

In their reaction on the press conference of former Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar, ex-Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (R) Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui, renowned lawyer Fakharuddin G Ibrahim, Justice (R) Wajihuddin, Hamid Khan and former minister for law Wasi Zafar said the statement of Abdul Hameed Dogar that he was unaware about the November 3 decision was unbelievable and baseless.

Speaking at a Geo News programme, Hamid Khan alleged that Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar was involved with Pervez Musharraf in the conspiracy against judiciary. He said it was unbelievable Justice Dogar was not aware of the November 3 decision of the Supreme Court. He said Justice (R) Dogar himself and from others took oath under the PCO.

Fakharuddin G Ibrahim was of the view that Dogar should confess his fault and sit down at home. The period of Dogar has gone, wherein the NRO stay order was being issued secretly. He said no judge, including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was restored and all judges had got their previous positions.

Justice (R) Wajihuddin termed Dogar’s statement about the decision of seven-member bench as unjustified. For getting a big post, he alleged, Justice Dogar had took oath at the hand of Pervez Musharraf.

He said: “Abdul Hameed Dogar should know that it is the issue of contempt of court and he will realise when he appears.” Former Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saeeduzzaman Siddiqui said that Abdul Hameed Dogar was also issued contempt of court notices in the past. Former minister for law Wasi Zafar said the press conference of Abdul Hameed Dogar was a wrong step. He said only his lawyers could address the press conference.
