Dear All,
A 21 year old guy, he used to wear a pair of contact lenses, during a barbecue party. While, barbecuing he stared at the fire charcoals continuously for 2-3 minutes. After a few minutes, he started to scream for help and moved rapidly, jumping up and down.
No one in the party knew why he was doing this? Then he admitted into the Hospital, the doctor said he'll be blind permanently because of the contact lenses that he had worn.
Contact lenses are made by plastics, and the heat from the charcoal melted his contact lenses.

So, send this information to all your friends..... DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES WHERE OVERHEATING AND FLAMES ARE CONCERNED.....OR WHILE COOKING...!

This seems to be good advice but I doubt that actually happened.
If the heat was great enough to melt contact lenses, shouldn't the guy have been extremely uncomfortable being that close to the barbecue in the first place?
Also I searched the net and found nothing about contacts melting in anyone's eye.
This looks like another one of those fictional/exaggerated e-mail forwards....

wow you are supposed to be extremely careful while wearing contact lenses, putting something artificial in to your eyes needs a lot of attention and looking in to it first!

That is a big hoax!
I've worn contact lenses for 45 years. In all sorts of situations, and not once has anything happened. Don't believe this silly story.
