The snows of winter are soon descending down the slopes of Hudson Bay Mountain in Smithers, British Columbia. This brings cheer and delight to the hearts of skiers & snowboarders...but, for an old seasalt like myself, thoughts of warm sand and tropical breezes will come to mind. My story yesterday about Silent Sound finishing her journey through Canada's chilly Northwest Passage got me to thinking of warmer seas the old girl has seen.

You can fly there out of both LA or Honolulu. Of course, there is also the daily 747 out of Paris. It IS, however, a very long way away from most land..being in the middle of the southern Pacific Ocean..Northeast of New Zealand and a thousand miles or so south of Hawaii! It IS very,very beautiful!
