KABUL: Fifteen people, including ten UN international employees and three suicide bombers were killed and nine other wounded when Wednesday morning three suicide bombers attacked on UN guests house at Shahr-e-Nao area of Afghan capital Kabul, Interior spokesman said.
Zmarai Bashari, interior ministry spokesman said that three suicide bombers at 5:30 am attacked on the UN guesthouse in Shahr-e-Nao area and made all the inmates hostage.
Afghan security forces received the information of the incident and rushed to the guesthouse by surrendering the guesthouse, the spokesman said.
Zmarai Bashari was talking to media said that three Afghan security personnel were killed and three other injured in the gunbattle as bomber opened firing on security forces. He said that after three hours cross firing the bomber were killed and security forces took control of the guesthouse. Security forces has cleared the guesthouse and pull out the dead and injured persons.
On the meantime, militants fired several rockets two landed in a five star hotel, however, no casualty reported here, sources said. A rocket also hit the presidential palace where sources confirmed that a son of Afghan president Karzai was also present. However, he and along with others were safe in the incident.
To a question, he said that by this incident the opponents want to put constraints in the forthcoming presidential poll. “ To overcome and make the next poll government would tightened security arrangements across the country”Zmarai added.
