PESHAWAR: At least 120 people were killed and more than two hundreds seriously injured as explosive laden car exploded with big-bang in Pipal Mandi(Peopl Market) here on Wednesday.
The car-bomb attack was carried out in the complex of market place and houses in Peshawar where one two four-stories buildings of very ancients time were located. 150 kilograms of explosives was used in the attack, bomb disposal squad team said.
The car-bomb exploded when people were Wednesday morning busy in daily businesses. According to initial reports 120 people, most of them were women and children were killed and their bodies were chard and broken as the buildings caught fire, eyewitness said.
Rescue workers and fire brigade’s vehicles were moved to Pipal Mandi but and started extinguishing fire. Rescue workers recovered most of the dead bodies, al though several injured and dead bodies were buried under the wreckages of the buildings, rescuer workers said. Beside the human lives martyrdom in the attack billions of the rupees worth infrastructures had been also destroyed in it.
Peshawar bazaars after the incident closed which showed the scene of curfew, as it was the third massive attack killing 120 innocents. NWFP information minister Mian Iftikhar and senior minister Bashir Bilor condemned the attack terming it the brutal and inhuman attack. Both the government spokesman said that they would not bow down against the militants. Adding, they will be in fight until and unless a last militant not eliminate from the surface of the Pakistani soil.
