85 killed, 200 injured in Peshawar blast

At least 85 persons were killed and over 200 were injured in deadly bomb blasts in congested Peepal Mandi area of Peshawar on Wednesday. AIG Police Shafqat Hussain has said about 150 kilogramme explosives were used in the bombing. The blast damaged more than 300 shops in four buildings while 70 to 80 shops and a mosque building were razed to earth, eyewitnesses said. Several persons still said to be trapped under the rubbles of buildings and rescuers were trying to retrieve the injured and dead bodies from debris. Authorities have declared emergency in hospitals. Around 80 injured persons were transferred to Lady Reading and other hospitals in the city. Lady Reading hospital officials have appealed people to donate blood for the people injured in the terror attack.
