Taliban begin fights inside Kabul.

Five to six Taliban fighters have reportedly captured a guesthouse of UN officials in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. The firing has begun between Afghan Security Forces and Taliban fighters, which has resulted in the killing of fiver persons, sources told.

According to the UN spokesman in Kabul there are ten to twelve officials of UN who were reportedly working on the Afghan run off presidential elections between Hamid Karzai and Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.

There are also reports that a large number of foreigners have been made hostage in the UN run Guest House in Kabul. The toll of the injured and those of killed is increasing as the firing is still in progress, sources in the foreign media told.

While unconfirmed sources told that Taliban abbreviated as TT Afghanistan has already claimed responsibility for capturing the UN Guest House in Kabul.

Beside the large-scale war with weapons between Mujahiddeen and the foreign troops in Afghanistan, the media war has also reached its peak. It is very difficult to identify the real material and human loss in the on going war in Afghanistan. For reporters it is hard to cover news on spot in the conflict zones that is why mostly reporters depend on the sources to make their stories.

As far as the attack of Taliban is concerned inside Kabul, it shows that now Kabul city is not far away from the reach of Taliban and Mujahiddeen. This is also clear that Taliban are no more fighting a defensive war in Afghanistan, but are advancing day by day to dominate the whole of Afghanistan. It is their courage, boldness and good fighting strategy to capture important and sensitive buildings in Kabul to make the foreigners hostage to force the US forces to flee from Afghanistan.

The US and NATOA generals commanding the so-called war on terror in Afghanistan themselves have confessed their defeat. The US army generals have uttered that they were fighting a lost war against Taliban. Psychologically and morally the US led NATOA forces have lost the eight years long war in Afghanistan. The US supremacy has come to an end in Afghanistan with the hands of the poor and unskilled Taliban, which has a great lesson for the whole world.

It is not only that US and the NATO will embrace a crushing and shameful defeat in Afghanistan. The British and the Russia were also super powers that had committed the blunder for attacks on Afghanistan. Their men power, technologies, resources and intelligence could not protect them from defeat by the hands of the downtrodden Afghans.

It is still time for the US and the West to leave Afghanistan before this land of the valours could be made their graveyard. They are supposed to leave behind technocrats and engineers to build this poor and backward country. They should work jointly with main neighbours of Afghanistan, particularly Pakistan to work for strengthening democracy and empower the people of Afghanistan besides building their infrastructure for sustainable development.

The US and the whole world should come forward to convince the Afghan government to recognize “Durand Line” as the international border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The British had demarcated the “Durand Line” as the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The successive governments in Afghanistan have also recognized it as the main international border between the two brotherly neighbour countries. Afghanistan is a land locked country that could not prosper and develop without the assistance of Pakistan. All the main, cheap and short trade routes into Afghanistan pass through Pakistan. More than thirty million Afghans have been living in the different parts of Pakistan since the eighties when the Soviet Union had invaded the Afghan soil. Generations of Afghans have grown up in Pakistan. They enjoy complete freedom here and posses important business. So the Afghans and Pakistanis have now mixed with each other and their states have just remained two identities. Afghanistan can not move ahead without the help and cooperation of Pakistan.
