Silent Sound in the High Arctic

Some of you old Allvoices readers may remember my travel serial "Sailing to Solitude on Silent Sound" in which I chronicled some adventures of a sailing journey from Alaska to San Francisco on a 40 foot sailboat. If not, you can use the search engine to revisit the serial and enjoy some cool pics and silly scribblings. I hope in the future to continue the saga in the near future...including some exotic escapades in Tahiti!

Silent Sound was purchased by a scientific group last spring and spent the summer and early fall sailing the Northwest Passage. Quite an adventure indeed for the little boat & crew. They made it!

Silent Sound is secured and safe at dock in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

feel free to read about their arrival & adventures at the OPEN PASSAGE EXPEDITION site below

She's a good old boat...that's for sure!

You can view some of my pics & stories of an earlier voyage at the Allvoices link below;

If you go to the OPEN PASSAGE EXPEDITION link in the article, there are links to their log etc. I helped sail this wonderful little boat from Alaska to San Fran in 2000 & rejoined them in Tahiti, French Polynesia in 2001. I hope to post some great articles and photos of the journey in the very near future. That little sailboat has made it from Alaska all the way thru the South Pacific and back to Canada. Now it has journeyed the arctic Ocean to the Atlantic.
OH..to have the money to buy her now and continue the voyage...Caribbean anyone? :-)

    @jimboeth @SarahHarries Who says that? No one, that's who. It doesn't even sound like a proper sentence, let alone something I'd say.

    @johncabell @nicfulton @samerfarha @vb2b I admit it's no Lincoln/Kennedy thing, but with a silent "p", and to a radio audience ... work with me, people.
