Now it is against the law to leave children alone in a vehicle. Crossing a parking lot, I typically see children alone in a vehicle often. I remember when I got left alone in a vehicle when I was young. It wasn't a big deal.

People only get in trouble if they get reported. Some people live to report while others never report. In my town, I wouldn't call the police because the parent would probably spend a night in jail, which, I think, would be worse for the children than being left alone in a vehicle. Sometimes, there are good reasons. All things to think about.

    I typically hear about kids being left alone in cars during the summer when the inside of vehicles can get up to about 100 degrees (w/o the AC on & about 80 degrees outside)
    Also it depends on the age of the child. I was also left alone in the car when I was young--probably around 10. But if I saw a 4 or 5 year old, I'd be concerned.
