Sher Del Khan son of Deen Muhammad resident of Taxila Punjab died of chronic disease in jail in Landikotal here on Tuesday. He was reportedly fifty years old and had been suffering from chronic diseases of stomach and heart, told an official in Landikotal. He also said that the accused had been apprehended last Sunday on suspicion.
Other sources said that he had requested for treatment but the officials had not arranged medicines for his treatment. That is why he succumbed to his pains inside the jail, which is a stigma for the local administration, local social workers said. They said that it was a serious violation of human rights to deprive an accused or even a criminal of the basic rights such as treatment and food etc. he jail inmates have also condemned this brutal attitude of the local administration. They said if he were not a criminal then why he had been put behind the bars
An official source said that the late Sher Del Khan’s sons had been contacted to take him but they got late. The source also said that he was not involved an any crime but had been arrested on suspicion. This source also said that he died of heart attack, but added that he was also a chronic stomach patient.
