JI calls for nationwide strike on Tuesday. Tribal people will also protest against the illegal detention of JI workers. The Provincial ANP led government of NWFP has become an ally of the army to stop people voice for freedom and human rights in the province. The barbarism and undemocratic behaviour of the ANP led government would not be tolerated, Jamaat-e-Islami NWFP deputy secretary general Zarnoor Afridi told this to PPI while talking on phone.
Zarnoor Afridi JI NWFP deputy secretary general said that four activists were seriously wounded in the firing of police on the peaceful rally of JI workers in Banu. More than fifty JI activists have been arrested at Banu, Zarnoor Afridi said. He said that imposition of article 144 was meant to sabotage JI Go America Go movement in the country.
ANP does not believe in democracy to allow political parties to continue their peaceful activities in the NWFP, Zarnoor lamented. He also said that JI workers would protest on Tuesday all over the country to condemn this brutal and inhuman behaviour of the government.
JI Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan has given a call for countrywide protest on Tuesday to record a protest against the illegal and undemocratic attitude of the government for stopping the JI workers to arrange peaceful rallies in Banu, Afridi said.
JI would organize the whole nation to stand up against the US and its allies in Pakistan to protect the country, Afridi said. He also said that it was never a service of democracy in the country to stop people or political parties to demonstrate peacefully or organize political activities in the best national interests, Zarnoor Afridi said.
He said that apart from the country the tribal people would also protest the illegal shelling on JI workers and would condemn the large-scale apprehensions of JI workers in Banu, he concluded.
