U.S. President Barack Obama delivers a speech after he received the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize in Rose Garden of White House in Washington on Oct. 9, 2009

U.S. President Barack Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced.

Obama was awarded the prize for "his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people," news reports from Oslo quoted the committee as saying.

I don't really know what to think about this, because I can see why they gave it to him, but it may be counterproductive and he hasn't really done anything yet. Also so far several of his policies are continuations of Bush's criminal policies.
