Sacked Khasadars(Tribal Police) seek reinstatemen in the Khyber Khasadar Force. The Khasadar Force soldiers and officials whose services had been terminated last month after they could not report for duty following a serious threat from Lashkar-e-Islam led by Mangal Bagh in Bara – have requested the authorities to reinstate them.
Addressing a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club (PPC), naib subedar Shah Jahan and subedars Muhammad Rehman, Zarmeen Gul and Muhammad Ali Khan said the operation had been going on in Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency for the past one month, during which the services of 604 personnel of the Khasadar Force , belonging to different clans of the Afridi tribe , had been terminated. They said most of them belonged to poor families and had no other source of income.
The former PA Khyber Tariq Hayat Khan currently working against the post of secretary law and order FATA secretariat is the main hurdle to let the 604 Khasadars come back to rejoin the force, sources told. Ex.political Agent Tariq Hayat had come under tremendous pressure when he failed to encourage the outgoing Khasadars who had refused to attend their duties following the threat from Lashker-e-Islam. Probably Tariq Hayat had been transfered after that major happening, sources added.
