I never really got into this band, which explains why I, as a serious collector, own nothing by ICP. It's sort of like Eminem, it's worth listening to once just for laughs. I'm just not the type of guy that will listen to a comedy record more than once. So who does buy this stuff? ICP explains that in their title track: “You're the evilest pedophiles, rapists and abusers. All together we've got fifty thousand of you losers”
OK, now that we've determined that I don't have the album, how am I able to review it? We're in the cyber age man—I just went to Youtube and checked it out! I'm on the first track so far, which is the last track on the album. It's got a 50's/60's feel to it, as the album's Batman like title may indicate. Also, it sounds like a bit like Wild One by Iggy Pop. Next on Youtube's russian roulette is Juggalo Island. Hip-hop hooray, this song has that feel-good Will Smith/Summertime sound. Throw in an alternative style chorus and you're there. Almost sounds like Micheal Stipe doing the backups. The lyrics are much less than funny. Song three...Chop Slide: the bonus track. I can see why it didn't make the album. NEXT! Freaky Creep Show. OK...slight carnival sound to the bass line, in comes the circus calliope keys, lyrics basically bragging about how creepy they are; not bad. And now, Boing Boing: LMAO! OK, I'm done. That's all I can take. It's basically a song about a guy wondering why all the girls want to **** him. Let me answer the query---You're in the band!
I've read some of the other reviews comparing this album to this or that of their other albums. Whatever. You don't need my review, or any other review. If you like this band, you're probably a googly eyed hypnotized rabid fan who belongs to their cult and has spent a small fortune on their CD's, pendants and other merch. Otherwise, you're either like me (you won't buy into it, but you think it's funny), or you HATE them. If it's the latter, the only reason you know who they are is because you're a parent, thus ICP has done their job in the eyes of Lemmy Von Motorhead, who once said “If parents don't like it, it's good”. If good means not too bad, tolerable, I'll say it's good; a record grading scale kind of good, which is bad. Never buy an album graded at good!
