Farmers Discover Ancient Buried Byzantine Monastery...

A group of farmers who acquired some extra farm land 5 miles west of Jerusalem have found an "archeological gold mine" They've discovered a Byzantine Monastery that's been buried for more than 1500 years lying just below the surface of their new property...

So far approximately 1/3 of the monastery has been excavated and several beautiful ornate mosaics have been found. The rooms of the monastery go down 7 feet underground although the mosaics were found just below the surface...

In addition to the monastery a complex wine press has also been discovered that was likely used by the monks to make and sell wine from the grapes that grow well in the area...
