More than hundred people were killed in two car bomb blasts in Baghdad on Sunday. The powerful blasts occurred within a gap of one minute in the parking places of the Ministry of Justice building in the city.
Officials said many persons were wounded in the worst ever blasts in the country, and they were all rushed to the hospitals in the capital.
Reports said that black smoke could be seen billowing from the blast scene. Emergency vehicles including ambulances were rushed to the spot and the stunned officials had taken up relief operations immediately. Officials said that even cars of civilians were used for moving the injured to hospitals.
According to information, explosive-laden vehicles were parked in garages near government buildings.
According to initial reports at least 350 people were injured in the blasts.
The explosions were just a few hundred yards from Iraq's Foreign Ministry which is still rebuilding after massive bombings there in August killed about 100 people.
