Mobile Phone Charger

A new Universal Mobile Phone Charger that will work with any kind of mobile phone has been approved for production by the International Telecommunication Union.

The UN based body has finally given the green light to this ambitious project as waste chargers amount to nearly 51,000 tonnes each year putting tremendous strain on the ever compounding e-waste problem.

The reason for this is that people are unable to use phone specific chargers for newer handsets when they upgrade thus resulting in them in just throwing it away.

The new charger will ensure that all prhone models will be able to be charged with one charger and this will help to reduce the amount of charger waste generated each year.

However, a program should be in place to allow people to stop purchasing chargers at the point of buying a new phone, or else this initiative will not be a success.

It however, for the moment is a charge in the right direction!

We need it. Chargers Are filling up our landfills. I;ve got 4 at home. Absolutely useless since I cant use it for any other phone. They seems to wok, so its a shame to throw it away. Hopefully it will be a reality in the future.
