To match interview NEPAL-MAOIST

The method in which the media went to town on the kidnapping of the in-charge Atindranath Dutta of the police Sankrail being taken hostage by Naxalites to build up public sympathy and compel the administration to bow down to threats of Maoist rebels would have no parallel. Why was the media so selective? Why did they not attach equal seriousness to the abduction of two police constables Kanchan Garai and Sabir Mollah earlier in July-2009? That was also the handiwork of the same group – why was the case of the officer given preference? Why the differentiation between an officer and a constable? These are questions that the media should answer.

I guess it depends on the credentials of the officer. For instance, a Prime Minister's life cannot be valued against a beggar's. Not that the officer is that high and the constable that low, its just about the extent of their contribution.
