RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil - People are posing as dead bodies at Copacabana beach in a demonstration in which a man was found dead in a shopping cart in the city slum.

The city drew international attention this week, following shootouts that left over forty people dead. This was only days after Rio de Janeiro was awarded the 2016 Olympic games.

That's a creative way to get attention, and apparently, since we're talking about it here, it's working. It's sad to hear about these shootouts and the dead man. What was the motive there?
Posted By ahol888 ahol888 | about 1 month ago
The motive is the same as it is in all urban areas all over the world: drugs. The Olympics knew that the 'favelas' were there when they gave Rio the bid.

I'm not sure of the motive but my guess, it has something to do with drugs/money/hate/ignorance.
