In exchange for 50 hours of community service, rapper Kanye West and his business manager received a dismissal of charges for scuffle with paparazzi that occurred in a Los Angeles airport on Sept. 11, 2008. Charges included vandalism, battery and grand theft; all misdemeanors. Superior Court Commissioner Mark Zuckman. said, he did not want "to send a message that ripping the camera from someone's hand and (then) destroying it in an act of vandalism is acceptable, no matter what kind of provocation caused them to be angry. There are other remedies."

Kanye West seems to have issues with self-control - documented in this scuffle, many others, and his bashing of Taylor Swift at the awards presentation. Perhaps Kanye could take a few lessons from the young Ms. Swift in decorum and poise.

That was just a barbaric incident on both parties, Kanye West and the paparazzi. I don't know if he got off easy, but consequences are consequences, and he's going to have to make up for the mistake. Hopefully he works on keeping his cool so all this drama and negativity can fade away and be overtaken by his music.

I am glad that he has to do community service. This incident will force him to stay out of the limelight for the time being.
