In a recent attempt to get Iran and President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to accept a UN drafted plan that would reduce the stockpile of nuclear fuel that they possess; it was turned down with a stern underlying tone. Most believe Iran will be using this nuclear fuel to make weapons of mass destruction and in an attempt to make the world a safer more peaceful place, nations including the United States, France and Russia have already signed the plan into effect.

Despite there unwillingness to accept the proposal, Iran has asked for a revised plan to be written up in what most see as a time delaying tactic in an attempt to avoid tightening international sanctions. Iran has made it clear that they have no intentions of reducing its stockpile of enriched uranium and have stuck strong with their bologna story of claiming that they are only interested in using these deadly agents for peacefully purposes. Clearly, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is taking the world and especially the US, Russia and France for idiots.

After the French Foreign Minister returned from Lebanon where he was briefed and exposed to significant levels of intel, he made it clear that things are looking less than stellar. It seems that if the ignorant Ahmadinejad doesn’t comply soon, he may indirectly back these three nations (Russia, US & France) into a corner that will only spell disaster for the Iranian nation. If I were Mr. Ahmadinejad, I wouldn’t try my luck or press the issue too much further unless he really wants to see the wrath of a world that is seeking peace.

A news report I listened to on my local news network said that if anybody will process the uranium/plutonium needed for peaceful nuclear energy in Iran, it will exactly be France and/or Russia.

The news posed another question.
If practically the whole world has a right to enjoy and employ nuclear energy for their economies, why not Iran also?
Under tough sanctions, the Iranian economy is suffering badly.
If they can somehow guarantee that the enriched uranium or plutonium will be used for nuclear power, then I do not see why not.
It will take enormous amounts of radioactive material to build a bomb, and only small amounts for a nuclear reactor. The enrichment processes for either peaceful energy or for a bomb are also vastly different from each other. Iran simply cannot enrich it to a level that makes a bomb possible without it being detected.

If this material is supplied to them in small amounts, just enough to run a nuclear reactor, and enriched to only a certain level, then I do not see why almost any country has the right to nuclear energy except Iran. Under International sanctions their economy is suffering badly, and so are their people. Not the government, but the people are suffering. They need to boost their economy and to boost any economy you primarily need energy.

It is also hypocritical for nations with nuclear weapons to not cut down on their own nuclear arsenals, yet subscribe to others what to do. And that includes Israel with it's own nuclear arsenal.
