The people of Pakistan from Khyber to Karachi and from Chitral to Gawadar have given their verdict in the best national interests of Pakistan against Kerry Lugar Bill
Jamaat-e-Islami FATA also held public referendum on the disputed Kerry Lugar Bill in all over tribal areas including Landikotal here on Friday. Large number of tribal people thronged to cast votes against Kerry Lugar Bill. In the main bazaar of Landikotal and in front of the mosques the ballot boxes were put on tables and the ballot papers were given to the people to support or oppose Kerry Lugar bill. People were asked on loud speakers to give their opinion by writing “yes” or “no” on ballot papers on Kerry Lugar Bill. The voting process continued Friday prayer.
The media men were also invited for the coverage of the referendum and to monitor the counting process to ensure that the referendum has been conducted in a fair and transparent manner, which will show the real verdict of the masses in Pakistan, JI leader Zarnoor Afridi told, He was sure that people of Pakistan including FATA have out rightly rejected the bill, which he said was a price of our nuclear program and sovereignty. People will not allow the rulers to sell out Pakistan for a few dollars, Zarnoor Afridi said.
Zarnoor Afridi and other leaders of JI said that tribal people were opposed to US drone attacks in FATA in which innocent people are killed. They said that US and its Black Water were bent upon terrorism in Pakistan to create disorder and tension. Majority of the people in FATA have already expressed their opinion to reject the Kerry Lugar Bill because all the major political parties and the army have opposed it in the best national interests of Pakistan, they said. The Kerry Lugar Bill is against the sovereignty and nuclear program of Pakistan, they said.
The rubber stamp parliament of Pakistan and the ruling party has no right to decide against the wishes of the people, they cautioned. People from Khyber to Karachi and from Chitral to Gawadar have opposed the aid of slavery. Pakistanis are proud to live a life of starvation but would not prefer to slavery for financial gains, they vowed.
