UHCR aid for IDPs(Internally Displaced People) from SWA of Pakistan

The UN Refugees Agency has stressed the need for ensuring taht humanitarian assistance reached the people fleeing south waziristan."Humanitarian access to people in need remain the key challenge for humanitarian agencies in this operation given the volatile security environment in the displacement areas,"Andrej Mahecic spoke-person for UN High Commission for Refugees said in a statement.UNHCR is supporting local authority to register internally displaced people in Tank and Dera Ismail KhanIsmail Khan,Where 32,000 internally displaced people registered by local authority.These 32,000 people joined already 80,000 peoples living in camps since May.Now the total number of registered IDPs is 1,12,000.UNHCR has distributed kitchen sets,mats,blankets and jerry cans to registered IDPs.Many of the Internally displaced peoples are being accommodated by host families in the area.This is good trend in Pakistan in previous conflict in Swat,Two million people lef the area,many displaced peoples were accommodated by local peoples specially relative.But it is financial burden on other families to look after these families for a long time.The Government of Pakistan has asked UNHCR for help in form of all-weather tents and other basic necessities as it is going to establish new camps for internally displaced people in other areas like Wali Kandow etc.Peoples displaced by conflicts in bajur agency are seeking shelter in lower dir.Pakistan need help to handle the extensive problem of Internally displaced peoples(IDPs),as economy is not at good track and continuation in terrorist attack is also destabilising many institution of country.
