LETTER TO JEFF TOGHILL.I understand what you are trying to tell me in yourcomments inthe letter. Problem was when I was in school, I onlycame to thesecond year high. None of the students in the SpecialSchool weretaught professional writing. Most of the studentscouldn't evenwrite a letter to their relatives without being helpedby someoneon the staff. They couldn't even read a newspaper. Iwas able todo all that and more. The Menzies government had theidea to draft all the boys into the difence forces, they were given onlythe basic education with no training of any kind foranything atall. Weekly compositions were always encouraged butnot many ofthe boys could do what I did. We weren’t taughtpunctuations like in normal schools, paragraphs, phrases and so on. When we had thecompetition for the Book Week, the teacher did allthat and sentthe stories in on behalf of the students. I have neverbeen toany writing workshops in my life. That's why Ioriginally signedup in Brisbane when I saw the Writing Schooladvertisement in theReadersdigest and various tabloids. Things were so badI haven'teven had university studies because my father wouldn'tpay aftermy discharge from the Boys home, all he ever did wasuse me fordoing menial work around the house and kept taking mydole moneyand wasting it in auctions and for buying and sellingsecond handcars from junk yards and buying and selling secondhand goods. When I asked him about university, all he could saywas no money. In some places I wasn't sure where the comer or thefull stopwent. Imagine how many years it has been since I cameto the Philippines to get married and all my correspondencestopped. Even the children today are taught properlyunlike the way theytaught in Australian schools in the nineteen sixties.Having thebaby makes things hard also. I will have to go to thestory andtry to learn more. I have so many other things toencode also,my diaries etc, so when something comes I put it tothe bottom and do the things on top. I HAVE manyrescued scripts that werein the past years eaten by computer viruses, they takelot of time to read through and fix up. I also try tosave space on thehard drive by sending the scripts the way I have beendoing allthe time. Sorry about that, I'll have to concentratemore on thewriting, 1/12/2005. SORRY, I panicked a bit because when I downloaded theresults toassignment 11, they downloaded as thirteen, it is alsotitled onthe attachments 13.I want to mention about various printers that I had inmy timefor computers. Just history. My first printer when Ihad theCommodore 64 computer in Brisbane, was a smallCommodore printerthat used the same ribbon as Epson LX800, I couldn'tbuy cablesto attach it to the keyboard or instructions anywhere,so I soldit to a pawnshop and bought a large printer but againI couldn'tfind attachments for it. It went to the pawnshop withthe computer before I came to the Philippines. Ididn't have a printer with my XT computer because Iused a portable typewriter.I went back to get my permanent visa to thePhilippines and someguy, a Mormon living with his mother gave me acomputer as a giftwhile I was there but all that went to a pawnshop. Ibought anAtari printer while in Brisbane but again noattachments. I left it with an Atari computer and a Commodore computer instorage with a friend and a heap of other things. Imailed parcels ofthings to the woman for safe keeping, my computerfiles, bookson computers and heaps of other things expecting to goback butshe died and her family and the people from theJehovah's Witnesschurch stole everything after she died from cancer twoyears ago.I lost many scripts that I may never find again. Onreturn backto the Philippines I bought an old Epson LX800 printerfrom outof the rubbish of a computer store after they fixed itslightlybut it was a nuisance to learn how to use it. Ieventually gotthe knack of it and I had it for a number of yearsbecause it wasa good heavy duty machine, but as we know, nothinglasts forever. It eventually gave up the ghost and I bought an EpsonInkjet color printer, Model STYLUS 641SX. It was awhite elephant reallybecause everybody who bought that model wasdisappointed, theybroke down while under warranty but nobody could fixthem becausethere were no parts available for them so the factoryrecalledthem and providing they were returned to the storewhere theywere bought in, the dealer had to refund the money infull, theytook the printers back, customers were given brand newprintersfor nothing, they only had to pay for the inkcartridges whilethe old printers were returned to the factory to bedismantledfor junk. I was given a Lexmark model 630, it was thefirst timethat I had a USB printer because all the others werecerial printers that worked on the old system. TheEpson inkjet was thefirst one that had to be installed from aninstallation program. The old ones were already installed when you bought acomputerprogram but not anymore. Everything needs a drivernow. The firstLexmark gave me good service, it was made in Americabut printersaren't made to last anymore like before. I may haveused it forsixteen months, original cartridges are very expensivebut refillink, especially the black can be bought from anycompany or anybrand of ink because it can be refilled from aninjection systemby a syringe and a needle. I was shocked when I firstsaw thatbecause drug addicts get them out of the rubbish inthe night toinject heroin with. There's a huge drug problem inTagbilaran, the police are constantly jailing usersand the pushers. There'sno proper disposal system for the syringes andneedles, even thehospitals throw everything in open bins where thepushers and theaddicts get them from which includes from trash boxesthat are put out every night by the computer stores before thegarbos cometo empty them. Lexmark 510 is the earlier model thanbefore butthey were remaindered by some computer company fromHong Kong asSurplus stock. Now that they are bringing in brand newprintersthat are already old models to the Philippines andtrading themin for equivalent to $12.50 Australian if you returnany old printer at all, my idea is that in the nearfuture we will seemuch more of that, old stocks being remaindered forcompanies toclear their store rooms and we may even see lot ofancient typesof computers too like the Commodore, Atari, Tandy,Radio Shackand others adapted to modern systems by Microsoft. There's no need to answer this letter, 29/11/2005. Hi Miron, Assignment 11 results were emailed to you today. Assignment 12 is still being marked and the results shall be emailed toyou as soon as they are ready. Assignment 13 was submitted today. Dear Mirion, Thankyou for your email. Unfortunately, neither the school or its tutors keep copies of any workstudents submit. Kind Regards MichelleStudent Services STUDENT SERVICES.Jeff Toghill is aware of my self published book ofpoetry that I sent him in 1988/89, it may have had redpaper covers with a title MY BOOK OF POETRY BY MIRONLOVRIC. There could be two books titled POETRY WORLDANTHOLOGY, written by various authors, the saidcompanyhas gone broke some years ago at Surfers Paradise GoldCoast and the books are now collectors items. Therewere poems of mine published in them, MIRON LOVRIC. Abook of Short Stories with stories written by variousauthors and others written by MIRON LOVRIC. There werealso articles from Austral Asian Post Magazine thatwere published in various columns of Post and I waspaid cash for them, some of them didn't pay anythingbut they were mine. There may have been some newspaperarticles from Letters to the Editor. All those thingshave been lost but if Jeff still has them in hispossession, would it be possible that they be scannedto me as attachments in WORD, because I really do needonly my own articles from the Anthologies and stories, and the whole book of MY BOOK OF POETRY including thefront cover and dedication because I'm compiling a newPoetry Book. I would appreciate if that could be donebecause I have exhausted all the other sources wherethey could be kept. Anything that has my articles inthem. Post Magazine has also gone broke since so thosearticles are also collectors items. Sun Newspapers inBrisbane don't exist anymore either, Letters to theEditor published few things over the years, 5/11/2005. Mirion, Great to hear your new printer is up and running. Enjoy! Michelle What about the Module 11 to be scanned in to Yahoo forme, have you forgotten again? 2/11/2005. STUDENT 24250.Everything is alright now with the computer. I calledin a computer programmer who after re-installing theprinter program advised me to bring the printer to thestore. I did that last Friday and they traded in myoldprinter for a brand new Lexmark inkjet for a small feeof five hundred pesos Philippine that may convert to$12.50 Australian. He even came in the evening, installed the new printer a different model Lexmark tothe previous one and took the program disc for the oldone with the power leed and the old usb cable. Theyalways ask to return the old printer program when theysell you a new printer because they fix the oldprinterup and sell it as surplus, slightly used, 1/11/2005. STUDENT 24250. Dear Mirion, No worries. It often seems that the modern technology that is supposed to help makelife easier, often tends to try to make it harder. Good luck with your printer. Dear Mirion, Thankyou for your email. Your Assignment 8 has been receeived and forwarded to your tutor JeffToghill for marking. I have made a note on your student record regarding the mailing ofadditional materials, which should prevent the unnecessary arrival ofassignments already received. I shall also arrange for your marked assignment to be scanned & emailedback to you, without the originals, however, it is the tutors decision asto how they wish to present their comments for their students assignments. May i also ask that you remind me in your email, with the submission ofeach assignment to Please email next Blueprint only & scan originalassignment, and email results but don't post. I wouldalso like you to inform Jeff Toghill not to be sendingme packs of paper in the mail. I do not need the oldmodules because yesterday I received a parcel of paperwith module seven unnecessarily mailed to me with theresults of the marked module five. There were also twobig Writing School envelopes. I don't need all thatpaper, it was thrown into the fire. When I receive thenext module 10, online, I copy it to Word and printit, when I finish the study of it, I burn the paper afterI encode my assignment and send it via internet to theWriting School for marking. When Jeff finishes markingmy lessons he is not to send bundles of paper by mailbecause it's a waste of money for postage. He can scanthe results through to me on the internet instead.AlsoI can see that the attached letter that he sent me istyped with an old fassioned typewriter. DIARY 1994 PROVERB
The year 1994 has started with the meeting
of my new love Alyn. Is she the one who
is meant to marry me after all? It could
be that through her will come my blessing
with a happy family.
The answer to the above question is a hundred
percent (YES). How's that for a prophecy?
4/8/1998, MR DEREK HULME,
Please try to honor my request and put me back on the studies for writing. I believe that I have completed
three lessons altogether, all my blueprints 4-5-6 have been destroyed together with my Writing School
covers. When you put me back on the roll please observe certain instructions from me.
1, Please do not send me new covers,
2, send me the new Blueprints.
3, DO send me a supply of ANSWER SHEETS, THE ORDINARY AND DIFFICULTY ONES.
4, DO NOT supply a Manilla envelope for return of my lessons, I will buy them in Tagbilaran myself.
I have a supply of them already.
When I return the finished lessons, I will put the lesson in a Manilla Envelope addressed to THE
WRITING SCHOOL. (WHOEVER THE TEACHER IS), I will also enclose a Manilla Envelope for
the return of the marked lesson every time and the new blueprint to be sent to me.
5, The enclosed computer diskette is for your files, I have one for myself that is marked WRITING
SCHOOL on which I will keep all correspondence between myself and The Writing School.
These things that I have suggested are only to make it cheaper for the postage or fees from your end
because all the correspondence must be done by Air Mail, not surface.
6, I will keep the WRITING SCHOOL informed of acceptances or rejections by the
publishers/Editorials as the two enclosed letters indicate, I have no more use for them so there is no
reason for you to return them to me.
7, Whenever a word count is necessary for any files, my computer will give it to me automatically.
I press the Control key on my keyboard and type K, after that, I hold shift and type ?, it will say WAIT,
a moment later the total word count on the particular file will flash up on the screen.
The total word count for Biograph Disk 1 is: 66,026.
Biograph Disk 2 is: 54,051.
Paradise Lost Disk 1 is: 58,734.
BIOGRAPH 1 is now being offered to That's Life Magazine in Sydney.
BIOGRAPH 2, and PARADISE LOST 1, are being offered to ABC TELEVISION in Sydney,
or as they call themselves AUSTRALIA TELEVISION.
I hope you will be satisfied with my proposition to you.
Yours faithfully Miron.
Dear Mr Derek Hulme,
Thank you for your letter dated 19 January 1999. I'm sorry for not responding to you earlier but I had a major break down with my computer, it sat in the repair shop from January 25/1999 till March 23/1999. They changed the power pack in it because the blow out was caused by a large cockoroche, whenever they replaced parts something else blew out so after I had a good look and discovered that the main transformer and an intermediate one near ithad been partially melted, I asked for a new power pack.
They had a second hand one that they were able to salvage for me. It still took me two days to get started again because the HDD DRIVER wasn't pushed in properly.
Yours sincerely Miron, Student Number LM/9053.

I wrote several months ago to MR AMIR AHMAD but at this time there's no contact from the Writing School to me. I call you people thieves who are stealing people's money and refusing to refund it. You
said in a previous letter that I could finish my writing course but whenever I try to contact you about it I meet a wall of silence, you refuse to let me finish my course as an overseas student of the Writing School and since Writing School advertised in the Readersdigest last year their Leisutestudy and to ask via e~mail for your LEISURESTUDY CD'S I have come to the conclusion that WRITING SCHOOL is either going or has already gone broke. People will not sign up with you if they are being ripped off for their money. You seem to blame me for not continuing with my course but nobody from the WRITING SCHOOL will send me any of the blue prints or anything to study with so you are to blame for what happened not me. I tried sending messages via e~mail but they are always returned to me by Mailer Daemon from Yahoo that this site does not accept e~mail any l
