V- A new story or a trip to the past?

ABC has been touting it's new series V on all their channel affiliates. Those of us who remember the 80's, and you know who you are, will remember that this show was first broadcast in the 80's and (spoiler alert!!!) the aliens are lizard people. Have we come so far in television broadcasting that the only recourse is to rehash dreadful series from the past. Unfortunately, I believe we have.
