The Fox News vs. The White House.

Have you heard the defense for Fox News?

"It’s just the opinion guys that are lying. The Fox News department, the News department is not biased at all, it’s just the op-ed people."

It’s just Beck and O’Reilly and Hannity. No one else gives slanted information. No one else lies. Just the opinion people lie. And Beck’s not even a journalist. He says it himself, he’s just a clown. He’s just a clown on a News network.

Well, all the defenses in the name of Fox News are lies as well.

Does anyone remember the “terrorist fist bump” comment from Fox News’ E.D. Hill? No!?!

Here’s a link that might help that memory: http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200806060007

Michele and Barack Obama gave each other a fist bump on the election trail and E.D. Hill called it a “terrorist fist bump”. Classy.

Does anyone remember the Tea Party promotion Fox News did? It wasn’t just Beck and Hannity promoting the Tea Parties…

Here’s a link of someone from the News department promoting the event. The promo is at the end of the segment. http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200908230018 (just one example there. More are available, just search youtube.)

Just about everyone, from the Opinion people to the News people, at Fox News erroneously reported about Kevin Jennings. And then continued to report false claims even after information came out against Fox’s claims. Here’s one example http://mediamatters.org/research/200910010024

The people in Fox News’ “news” section edited a piece together that showed Joe Biden talking about how McCain claimed the fundamentals of the economy are good, to make it look like Biden himself said it. And not only that, they made it look like Biden said it once in office and not during the election campaign. http://mediamatters.org/research/200903160026

Fox News edited a section where Obama was reading a question asked of him about single-payer healthcare to look like Obama was promoting single-payer. http://mediamatters.org/research/200904250003

Megyn Kelly of Fox News is also guilty of spreading lies and reporting biased and opinion driven reporting, only she gets credited as if she were not a opinion reporter. Here is a link where she continuously tries to paint Sotomayor as a racist, even though her guests that she was hoping would agree with her, don’t. http://mediamatters.org/research/200905260050

Here is Megyn Kelly (trying to help the McCain campaign) arguing that a tax cut for the 95% of the American population is a redistribution of wealth. At the same time claiming that a tax cut for the rich is good economics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZjRwHG7URk

This past February the News department of Fox News just copy and pasted a direct Republican talking point and tried to pass it on as its own thought or point of view. The only reason we know that all they did was copy and paste Republican talking points is because the talking point had a typo and that same typo ended up on Fox News as well. http://mediamatters.org/research/200902100019

A little more recent event: In the beginning of October Fox News tries to make it look like that the Democrats in Congress are against renewing three provisions in the Patriot Act. They also tried to make it look like if it wasn’t for a provision that the Democrats are against (which they weren’t), that Zacarias Moussaoui would never have been caught. A flat out lie, there’s even a bipartisan Senate investigation that proved that claim to be a lie waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in 2003. But I guess Fox News and the Wall Street Journal (who also made the same claims) can’t be expected to remember Senate investigations from 2003. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GvBh6ErRrno, that’s the link to the video…. And here is a link to an article talking about the false Fox News report and the lies in that report. http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2009/10/02/misleading-on-patriot-reauthorization/

Chris Wallace helped spread the lies about the “Death Book”. Some guy that had written a book that didn’t get chosen to be the “Deathbook” came out and made all sorts of ridiculous claims about the “deathbook” that did get picked. The VA itself came out and shot down claims about the so called “Death Book”, but that didn’t stop the whiney Chris Wallace from reporting on it. Remember how whiney Chris Wallace got when Obama snubbed him. Maybe this “Death Book” story is one of the reason Obama decided not to appear on Fox News. http://mediamatters.org/research/200908240024

Remember the full page add that Fox News took out showing a picture taken from CNN of the Tea Party in Washington D.C. and then asking why none of the other networks didn’t cover the event. Not only had every network cover the event but the picture used in the advertisement was a still from CNN’s coverage of the event. Not even the advertising section of Fox News is un-biased. Even the advertising section of Fox News lies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGBL3VsFlLU Here’s an ad CNN did in response to the Fox News ad. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHMTDQCyoS8

The Fox News tried to spread more fear among the Christians and other distrusting Americans, that a Obama appointee to the State Department supports Shaira Law in the U.S.. An uber-lie… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U2O5bPI2Uo The explanation of the lie happens at about the four minute mark, after the entire Fox News clip.

Here’s a montage of the smear campaign the Fox News Network had going on before Obama even became President. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouKJixL--ms To be fair some of the clips in this video are from the “opinion” shows.

Here a Fox News reporter says that protestors are against “free speech”. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDGhs_LN7Fk Beware…this one has cursing! It’s funny when a Fox News reporter walks into the middle of a march and accuses the protestors of being against freedom and freedom of speech, while the protestors are cursing and protesting (practicing their freedom and freedom of speech). This is one of my favorite clips in this article.

The cool thing about that last clip was that this was the same reporter caught trying to pump up the Tea Partiers in D.C. I guess trying to pump up the Tea Partiers is the kind of coverage Fox News wanted the other News Networks to do.

Here’s a very heated clip from Fox and Friends from during the campaign. Trying to talk about Weather Underground while the economy was going down the tubes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0_dd7supn4

Here’s a clip with Chris Wallace talking about Jeremiah Wright and race while the economy was going down the tubes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lr19rotN2c

Here is Fox News spreading Neocon lies about the connection between Iran and Al Qaeda. Just so you understand, there is no connection between Iran and Al Qaeda. But the Bush administration was headed to a war with the possibly nuclear Iran and Fox News as always was backing the Bush White House. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0japj2XWNwc

Here’s an example from Father’s Day of this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hhzTY4-sbb4

Here Fox News bashes Richard Clarke…trying to help the Bush White House. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqzKKFJSPvc

Here Fox News cuts off a live Obama speech before he actually finishes. They just start talking over the speech and cutting off what Obama was saying. Right at the climax of the speech and then they go back to it after he was done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7JLIlT6d2g

Here Megyn Kelly and Michelle Malkin try to get Obama to apologize for rappers. Remember when Fox News came out and said Obama calling Kanye a “jackass” was beneath the White House, well months before they wanted Obama to apologize for what Jay-Z and Young Jeezy said. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R90xshYjQYY remember how everyone in the news media wants Obama to stop picking on Fox News lies because it is beneath “the White House”, well they don’t stop and think about that when they want him to pick on specific rappers for swearing.

Here’s how Megyn Kelly just plain lying about a railroad project in the stimulus package that is setting up a railroad starting from Disney and going straight to the Bunny Ranch. A complete lie, she also has a Republican Congressman as a guest that is the originator of the lie. The stimulus package did not have that project in it. Not only that but the two stops (Disney and the Bunny Ranch) are not even stops. The stops would be in the city of Anahiem in California and would go to Las Vegas in Nevada. From Anaheim to Vegas. Yes Disney is in Anaheim, but so are a few movie studios and lots of other people, but The Bunny Ranch is not in Vegas. Prostitution is illegal in Las Vegas county, it’s legal in all the other counties in Nevada, except Las Vegas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7NcV78RlrQ

Here’s Foxnews.com trying to connect Obama to Lucifer himself. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6FSnWhGtOI

Here’s Fox News contributor Karl Rove blaming Obama for the economy before Obama even won the won the election. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLrZcLjFmO4

Here’s Fox News trying to asking people to raise their hands if they’re going to vote for McCain and about three people raised their hands. And then asked who is voting for Obama and everyone else in the room raised their hands, the Fox News reporter then goes on to say that the room is about 50-50. Their bias is blind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqcyz3UDvGw

I can go on with all the examples of the News department of Fox News being obviously biased, obviously lying, obviously pushing an agenda, obviously working to smear Obama and the Democrats.

Fox News will do anything to push right wing agenda and the Obama administration treating them like the tabloid station they are is well deserved by the network.

Fox News is not a news station. They are right wing talking heads. There are a select few working at the channel that are not blindly following ideology (Shepard comes to mind), but the station overall is just a Republican Party regurgitation station.

They scare with lies and conspiracy theorists. They distort with bias and lies. They criticize with ideology and lies. They report their news, filling it with lies.

Fox News, their News department, their Opinion department and their advertising department all lie. They’ve lied in the past, they are lying right now and they will lie in the future.

WOW, all that lying, everyone is lying. Thank goodness CNN and MSNBC tell the truth, nothing but the truth.

So you agree Fox News Lies.

Yes -- and Fox News is also lying about a white house controversy those animal media whores. Just do your little reporting Fox News and stop trying to artificially call attention to yourselves. Your followers think you're right - with your leading opinions. That' not news that's called spoon feeding babies who cannot evolve past party lines. Same goes for MSNBC -- this is not news people.

Well, now isnt this fancy. Everything seems so surreal nowadays. Don't worry, once we all become desensitized to it, it won't seem like such a big deal.

Everybody has a lie to tell especially on the news. They depict everything to sell a story or headline.

Personally - I think the White House is focusing on FOX just to divert the attention from the real issue - the crap health care legislation.

You posted 4 articles that more or less say the same thing. That said, I think you are too.

Is FOX really that important? You're talking about 1 show over and over again. Do you watch FOX - my bet is you don't. So, here's a suggestion. Study the channel for 3-5 days, and not JUST the Beck program and compare it to MSNBC and report back to us on which channel reports both sides more.

I'll focus on health care, cap and trade, card check and all the other shi* that REALLY matters and so too will a lot of others.

Also - Lying liars - double negative = positive.

The title is inspired by a best-selling book by Al Franken. It was about Republicans in office, during the start of the Iraq war. Meant to be funny.

And I watch Fox News almost daily. I have since 9/11, I don't think I need to study the channel any longer.

DId you actually read this article? I have to ask because Glenn Beck is not really in this one. In this article are the "normal news" shows on Faux, that are just as slanted, miss informed and untruthful as the Beck, Hannity and O'Reilly show.

I have watched the Fox Channel, and it was by watching it that I knew what many on the channel are trying to make the White House look stupid by saying that Obama administration just is being ignorant because they can't differentiate between Fox's op-ed people and their "news" department.

Most of the people in all the videoclips I linked, in this article, are people that are not the op-ed people.

A80,

This is like beating a dead horse. The WH wants to silence Fox News because they are not lockstep with the rest of the fawning media. FOx News & Conservative Radio are primarily the only two sources that hold Barack Obama's feet to the fire and raise some good valid questions on his policies.

The WH despises Fox News. Instead of griping about what Fox News reports or doesn't report, why doesn't the President have a nice roundtable discussion with maybe, Chris Wallace, O'Reilly or Hannity and answer some of the questions Americans want to ask.
Reply By amalgam80 amalgam80 | about 1 month ago
I'd rather see him on Greta's show, but whatever.

He'll be on Fox News again but probably not anytime this year.

"FOx News & Conservative Radio are primarily the only two sources that hold Barack Obama's feet to the fire and raise some good valid questions on his policies."

What kind of valid questions are you getting at?

The terrorist fist bump? Blaming him for the economy before he even got into office? Is he going to start shariah law? Making up that he was in a terrorist school as a child, that he's a Muslim? That Obama wants Veterans to Die? Wants Grannies to die? Wants conservatives to die? That Obama should apologize for the rappers that swear and use the "n" word? Questions about the railroad that goes from Disney to the Bunny Ranch (yeah right, and there is also a train that will go from my room to the waterslide at six flags)?

Which questions are you talking about?

I really don't get what all the fuss is about despite all that I have read on the 'net. it seems everyone is exaggerating or over-reacting nowadays to promote something or someone or pointing blame elsewhere to avoid their own accountability. This is just another fine example of media sensationalism. It doesn't deserve viewership or serious thought. I'm so bored of Balloon Boy,Rush Limbaugh, etc. Let's get some real stories people want to hear about. It's like a old fashioned game of telephone, everyone is building upon something they heard from someone else....

Anyone could find someone/something to support their opinions. Just because someone else agrees with it, doesn't make it true either. In tumultuous times such as these, we really have to look at ALL the facts, resources, and make sound judgments with common sense.
Posted By pollard pollard | about 1 month ago
McMilo,
We don't need to post any Cnn news, we know where they stand. Rick Sanchez, lied in his news report. He said they covered the event, they didn't promote it.
Then he said, just like the anti-war march in washington, they covered it, but didn't promote it. Thats BS, they promoted that march a month before it happened and while it happened. Big deal, Fox news is pulling a CNN, get over it.

I just think its ironic, when we write about a news outlet or a talking head, the liberals scream about thinking own your own. Quit listening to the news outlets. Everyone of his counterpoints was from you guessed it, a news media.
Reply By amalgam80 amalgam80 | about 1 month ago
i'd like to see the link to where CNN was promoting the "Anti-War" protests.

Do you have the link available or is that just another McCarthy like statement?

In this envelope I have evidence that these people are communists.

Did Rick Sanchez tell people to register on an Anti-war website or did someone on CNN make promos about the protest? Did they give contact numbers for porgressive groups?

How exactly did they promote the anti-war protests?
