American Selling Secrets to Israel

A Maryland scientist who has held all types of illustrious positions within the Defense Department and Space Council was caught attempting to give highly classified information to an undercover FBI agent posing as an Israeli intelligence officer. The traitor has been identified as Stewart Nozette and will undoubtedly be charged for espionage an embarrassing and pathetic crime.

Mr. Nozette has held several high power, high level positions within the government that has given him access to U.S. satellite information. FBI agents when they uncovered that Nozette was willing to sell his high clearances and top secret information, made a fake phone call to set up the meeting that eventually led to his arrest. The two alarming things that need to be addressed not only for governmental purposes, but also to ease the minds of worrisome Americans are: why or how Nozette still had relevant and pertinent information that could be detrimental to America and what position, if any Israel plays in this ongoing saga.

It amazes me that a man that held as high of clearances and was exposed to classified information was allowed to leave with it and still clearly had access to new, updated information. These types of situations will need to be addressed immediately to prevent similar cases in the future. Secondly, why of all the nations in the world, would the Israeli’s be the ones he was trying to pass it along too? It will be interesting to know if Nozette had met or had conversations with Israeli military or governmental figures and what they wanted with the information. The peculiar thing about Israel being at the center of this saga, is that most of us believe our relationship with the Jewish nation was as good as anyone could imagine. I think I speak for all Americans that if Israel is found to have had a hand in this we will all be shocked and disappointed.
