My four year old cousin, I know I've said it before, but he has the most unusual imagination ever. I have no idea where he comes up with this stuff. Today I took him down to the park and he played for a little while, but then, in his own words, he just wanted to talk and sit.
He began by asking me questions about the ants that were working nearby. Mostly, they stayed within the realm of normal. Things like, why were they walking quickly, and how could they get out of their hole after he'd covered it up with a rock.
Next thing I knew, he was telling me about a spider web he'd just spotted. "They're everywhere," he said. "Yep," I said. "That's what they do; build webs." He then proceeded to say, "Yeah! They use pink glue!"
What? It was all I could do to not laugh in his face. "Do they?" I asked. "Yeah," he said. "Pink glue to stick their webs to stuff." It was one of the funniest things I have ever heard! Where did that come from? It is always amusing to hear how children interpret the things around them.
