First, we have the balloon boy incident this week. Now, check out the infamous balloon goal that happened yesterday afternoon in the soccer match between Sunderland and Liverpool. The winning goal was decided when a child in the stands threw a beach ball onto the field in the area in which Sunderland was attacking. Striker Darren Bent kicks the soccer ball into the beach ball, which ricochets away from Liverpool goalie Pepe Reina and goes into the net to give Sunderland a 1-0 lead. However, Liverpool FC Coach Rafa Benitez did not blame the beach ball for the loss since Liverpool lost to Sunderland 2-0 in the Barclays Premier League matchup. Watch the video and enjoy!

The weird thing about soccer is that they don't stop play to get whatever is thrown off of the pitch.
