Rio-de-Janeiro has bagged the honors of hosting the 2016 Olympics Games from a strong claim by US President Barack Obama to host it in Chicago but, the shooting down of a police helicopter by in an apparent battle between two rival drugs gangs would probably be viewed with concern by the authorities. Drug racket is, as it is, a danerous occupation and killings are quite normal in group encounters to prove supremacy of one group over another. It seems a bullet of one of the groups fighting in a slum hit the helicopter pilot in his leg which caused the helicopter to go out of control. It was not immediately known whether it was a stray bullet or was done on purpose to bring down the helicopter. Ten of the drug traffickers were also reportedly killed in the incident.
