According to Saudi Gazette, Aramco,the well-known oil company of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia was sued for 250,000 dollars as its negligence caused the death of a prized camel.Aramco had dug a deep hole in the desert to store crude oil.
Apparently,there was no protective boundaryaround the large hole to prevent an accident and so, unfortunately a grazing, black she-camel fell in the pit and died.This incident took place 150 miles(250km) west of Ahsa.
The case is to be heard on Monday and the owner of the 3-year old she-camel claimed that he had entered the animal in a regional 'Camel Beauty Contest'.The compensation money will be decided by experts, a local newspaper reported.
It may be mentioned here, that camels are prized in Saudi Arabia for their breeding and are considered a good form of financial investment.
