MALE: The President of Maldives Mohammed Nasheed and his ministers Saturday signed a safety-agreement under the water to save the 12,00 islands in his country.

The treaty was signed about the climate change which threatening Maldives due to the increase of sea level.

According to the experts, Maldives would go under the water in the coming two years if protective measures not taken on time.

The President, Mohammed Nasheed, along with his ministers and cabinet members went deep in the seawater to sign the treaty. They were in the water for long; not only signed the safety treaty but Mohammed Nasheed addressed the cabinet deep in the water. He said Moldavian government would take safety steps in solid manner to avoid any disaster forecasted by experts. He urged the international community to help Maldives in this regards.

Maldives is a country composite of many islands; situated just above two feets to the sea level. It was the very serious treaty signed under the water but its mode was very amazing for people. There were a good number of officials, civil society and media men who enjoyed it. It was the first of its kind mode and method of signing a treaty took place in the history of the world. People across the world not only appreciated the bravery and courage of the Moldavian president Mohammed Nasheed but paid a great tribute to him on initiating a unique and a symbolic step for the rest of the world
