Pakistan forces under attack - 15 Oct 09

The Pakistan Army has launched a major operation against Taliban militants in their stronghold in South Waziristan Agency, according to an ISPR release. The operation was launched last night to eliminate terrorists and their hideouts from the remote mountains and jungles of South Waziristan. After eliminating terrorists from Bajaur and Swat successfully, Pakistan Army is moving towards South Waziristan which remained the last stronghold of militants until now. Most of the recent attacks in Pakistan including the one on the GHQ were planned and conceived in South Waziristan. It is the same agency which was home to Baitullah Mehsud who was killed in a US drone strike a few weeks ago.
