Washington : DC : USA | about 1 month ago
Views: 82

As many speculations arose wherein former United States first lady and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will run for president. As you noticed this past few days, Bill Clinton's wife is no longer involved with White House's critical decisions regarding lots of things, there's issue about Health Care Reform Plan, to add or not to add U.S. troops in Afghanistan and even issues about a possible impeachment trial for President Barack Obama. All these and more, Hillary Clinton is kept silent. This silence makes lots of people think that the former first lady will run for president in the next U.S. election. Some think that the reason why Clinton is silent is because she want Americans to think that she is against President Obama's decisions since most Americans doesn't want the outcome of Obama's decisions are. Thus, Americans will think that Hillary is not an underdog of Obama's. And when election comes, they will favor more on Clinton rather than Obama. And they believe that Clinton will become a better president that Obama.

To end all speculations, Clinton herself confessed that she's no longer interested in any political positions in the future. According to her, she will just end her term as Secretary of State and will "take a rest" for a while.

Though she end the speculations, as you can see, she said "take a rest". For me, it's not the end yet..Who knows if she will becom the first woman president in the future?

I guess she does need some rest after all for quite a few reasons. With this rest:
- She can take a vacation from all the uphill tasks piling up at the White House for the next US president
- Once the next US President has taken care of these issues, its much easier for her to step in and take over a hassle-free economy as a President and ride on the laurels of the then previous govenrment's efforts
- She has learnt from Obama that its not just about becoming a President, but also about maintaining that role with respect and dignity, and consistent proof of efficient task execution
- She has learnt that all words and no action will bring greater disgrace than the Bill Clinton - Monika Lewinsky saga
- She can sit back and observe how tough national emergencies and excigencies are taken care of, before going ahead and facing the bandwagon

Good point Arrnica. Now that she sees all the difficulties of nation-handling, I do believe that it became an eye-opener for her. Well, good thing she knows what she will face in the future if in case she change her mind in running.

She probably has had enough of this politics game. Being active in government for so long can obviously be very stressful and overwhelming. The decision to take a break is understandable. I don't know if Bill will be to happy about it though.

Believe it or not Inspector, Bill Clinton is happy on her wife's decision.

I won't be surprised to see her run for President at some time in the future. Though I'm a conservative, my respect for Hillary has grown over the last year or so. I think she's been a much better Secretary of State than Gen. Powell, and I wish Mr. Obama would use her abilities more to his advantage on international affairs.

yes, fireisle. she's a good Secretary of State than Powell. But some says if she posses lots of good quality, she can be a good president, too..

I Think She should keep running for president

Do you mean you prefer Hillary to run for president in the future, bestray125?

@InspectorGadget, firesale, bestray: Since I am an Indian national who has never gone out of India, my impression of American politics or politicians nearly always comes from stray comments heard here and there or from the news and media that often exaggerates the drawbacks of politicians. My information also often stays not updated for long. It is nice to here something positive about her from all three of you, that makes me think I should read more about her and give credit to her where its due. :)

Just an add up Arrnica, Hillary is one of the most respected woman in the United States. Being appointing as Secretary of State is indeed an horror..
