Sania Mirza in semi final of Japan Open

Sania Mirza has now moved to the semi finals of the Japan Open 2009. She beat the 2006 champion Marion Bartoli of France 6-4, 2-0 when she had to retire due to a strained shoulder muscle. Sania Mirza will now meet the fourth seed Italian Francesca Schiavone in the semifinal. Incidentally, Francesca entered the semi final berth by virtue of a walkover over her rival who had sustained a foot injury due to which the match had to be abandoned. The question on everyone’s mind is – can Sania Mirza emerge victorious and do her country proud?
