The entire world, everyone with a radio or TV was punked yesterday by 6 year old Balloon Boy and most likely his brothers mother and father. Like you When the balloon first took over the cable news as the wind blew the balloon across Colorado and they were saying a 6 year old boy was in there I was horrified thinking what happens if he falls out or when it crash lands? How could they possibly save his life?

Then I started paying attention! It did not pass the smell test even before we started hearing the story. Watching the balloon blow across Colorado it did not look like it had a pound on it let alone a 60 pound boy. It was blowing like an empty plastic bag not something carrying weight. For two hours we watched it off and on and heard nothing from the parents, family, or friends.

They then showed a picture of the so called flying saucer built by his alien enamored father and it was obvious it was a hoax but still denied. With the entire family in front of it they took a picture and come to find out the entire time we were watching it, it was upside down. That was not the basket we were watching nor could it hold a person. Why did that not come right out to the world?

Well! It unravels and for now is still denied. Come to find out, the Heeney's were on the ABC reality show "wife swap" twice having been back by popular demand because of their odd beliefs and behavior. There was promise of being asked back again. I heard the boy described as a prankster and that his Father would do anything for attention. That was enough for me. The Father feigns anger while 6 year old Falcon says they did it for a show. Ahh the innocence of youth! Don't you just love kids?

this is a classic example of I told you so. When I heard on the radio at work the boy wasn't inside AND the family had been on a reality tv show....I told my spouse and coworkers that it was a hoax. That baloon didn't even look like a 6 yr old could go up into it....and the family even said that. Also, everyone believed his dumbass brother's story that the boy was in the baloon. I could just hear my own son saying his baby brother was in the baloon....he doesn't like his brother either because he gets more attn. What a waste of law enforcement effort!

Funny Asher! When I first saw it I was horrified but it became obvious no one was on it and increasingly that we were all punked. The kid said it was for a show and I have to believe him. You know kids!

I was horrified thinking a kid was in there or fell out. He is 6 years old I am sure he got a kick out of how it really came down.
Reply By snail snail | about 1 month ago
... and your proof for that all was a hoax is one comment from the kid. For the sake of a constantly present legal security we all want, I would avoid convicting anyone before the legal system has agreed that there is a hoax and criminal.

I think these parents should be hung by their toes! It is sad what has happened, causing thousands of dollars in unnecessary searching, not to mention the concern of family, friends, neighbors and millions of viewers. These parents should have to pay for every dime this search cost!
Reply By snail snail | about 1 month ago
I think it is really, really dangerous to start convicting people based on one comment by a 6 years old. He might very well be right, but who gave us the right to convict them.

You are right, my thoughts are strict but six year olds don't tend to lie. Research shows that at this age, most children haven't yet learned HOW to lie well. When the boy says they were suppose to "put on a show", that's exactly what he means, IMHO
Posted By jacesdaddy09 jacesdaddy09 | about 1 month ago
Parents should have more control over their kids than to let something like this happen. Even though it was a prank they should still have more control.
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago
onlinebusinesswoman It is true and I agree 100%. I lways told my sone tell the truth the first time and you never have to worry what to say next time. I remember my youngest being criticized, saying he was too stupid to lie. Many of us have largely lost their values and I certainly suspect his parents!
Posted By jmsjoin jmsjoin | about 1 month ago
jacesdaddy09 I agree! Too me the problem is often kids raising kids. In many cases parents are out in left field somewhere as in this instance and they think it is great and pass it on to their kids and others!

Hi desil! It was obvious watching that blow around there was no weight there, The bottom was cardboard and if it held him and no way he would have protruded. It is sickening teaching you kids to lie, that is only part of our societal degradation. I have to laugh! I never was Political I just hate liars and can see right through them.
