The strong earthquake, 6,4 magnitude struck Banten Province, Indonesia
The powerful 6,4 magnitude earthquake, which struck off Sunda Straits, North West of Ujung Kulon, Banten Province, 300 km from city of Jakarta, Indonesia at 16.53 local times on Friday, October 16, 2009 were made thousands of Jakarta workers, especially at high rising building panic, and rush to run to outside their offices building.
According to data from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the epicenter of the quake was in the Sunda Strait, about 42 kilometers northwest of Ujung Kulon in Banten province, around 185 kilometers southwest of Jakarta, at a depth of 55 kilometers beneath the ocean floor.
''I run out from my dormitory building. When the earthquake hit's my dormitory, I still in the restroom, and I event do not use my t-shirt yet when I went out from the building,'' said Anggraeni Putrisia, Bogor Agriculture Institute (IPB).
Thousands of staff and employee whose work mostly at a high rising building in Jakarta and around Bogor, and Banten provinces areas get panic.
''The earthquake are too strong, maybe some peoples get victims cause of the earthquake,'' said Nasional University Students, Nina Kirana said.
