Is Mamata Banerjee really on any hit list?
Mamata Banerjee, the Railway Minister and the arch enemy of the CPM in West Bengal certainly has plenty of enemies but, would anyone in his right mind make an attempt to murder her in a place like the Salt Lake City at 10 pm? Her accusations against a private TV news channel that they were following her in a car with the intention of murdering her makes for a strange and funny bit of news. It seems the particular TV channel had not found favor with the Trinamool Congress and had been given short shrift in official railway programs. Can a national leader of the stature of Mamata Banerjee make such accusations? While the Trinamool has filed an FIR in the local police station against the TV channel, it has retaliated by filing another FIR against some leaders of the Trinamool.
