FORT COLLINS, Colorado - Six year old Falcon Heene was found alive but scared after millions of viewers watched the most famous balloon chase ever. Falcon told reporters outside his Fort Collins home Thursday afternoon, "I played with my toys and took a nap." The boy was upset when his father yelled at him, so he decided to go hide in the attic. The Colorado Air National Guard searched hours for the lost boy.
People from all over the world watched as the helium balloon soared at least 6,000 feet in the sky over eastern Colorado. It was feared the boy was inside the ballon. Richard Heene, the boy's father, was in the house at the time the boy went missing. One of Heene's other sons told the father Falcon had climbed inside the balloon and it took off in the air.
Eloise Campanella, a spokeswoman for the Larimer County Sherriff's department got it right. Campanella said she's very confident they would find the missing boy. She said, "I think it's a matter of him being a little bit scared. He did something wrong. He's probably trying not to be found." She was right on target.
Falcon Heene is the youngest of the family's three sons.
