Sania Mirza in Japan Open

Ōsaka : Japan | about 1 month ago

Sania Mirza is not one to say die – she might not be winning major tournaments but is surely winning hearts. The 22-year old is now in Japan and has reached the quarter final hurdle of Japan Open by beating the Ukrainian Viktoriya Kutuzova in straight sets of 6-4, 6-3. Sania would next be pitted against the French second seed Marion Bartoli who won the title in 2006. Let us hope that Sania Mirza emerges victorious and continues to overpower her opponents to win the crown. She has , of late, not been able to leave her stamp of authority in singles tournaments, she should do well to win the Japan Open. It would be a morale booster.
